Munters is the originator of structural media used for evaporative cooling. CELdek® evaporative cooling pads have a precise angle of the fluting which maximizes the water surface area to optimize the cooling effect.
Using evaporative cooling to reduce excess heat in a greenhouse is environmentally-friendly and energy efficient. The specially designed CELdek® pads are made of special fluted cellulose sheets that are bonded together and chemically impregnated with compounds and stiffening saturants to prevent rot and to guarantee a long uninterrupted service life. The CELdek® pads are fitted along the wall of the greenhouse or a part of the wall. A water distribution system disperses water equally over the surface of the cooling pads, keeping the entire air-contact surface thoroughly wetted. Fans are installed in the opposite wall to create a zone of negative pressure inside the greenhouse that causes the air to be drawn into and through the wetted pads. The air picks up water molecules thus bringing about evaporation and the air is cooled. A control system regulates the water pumps as well as the number of fans in operation. The consumption of electricity for this type of system is negligible.
Munters has many years of far-ranging global experience in providing the right climate in the right place. We have narrowed it down to Climate.Controlled.
